The degree show starting to take shape
Today was really difficult, it was hard to decide what to show and how to place it. With the help of Ros (my first year helper) and after much juggling of furniture and pots this is the arrangement that seems to work. I will see how I feel about it tomorrow morning!
Last batch of vessels
The last kiln load of work and all came out of the kiln without problems. With only a few days left till the end of the course things seem to be going well, my biggest pieces have survived their journey through the drying, bisque firing and final glaze firing! The work was photographed in my degree show space.
the colours are working out well |
The green vessel is the largest that I managed to produce its about 14 inches dia. |
Some of the corrugated paper clay work |
Some mounted A2 images for the show |
Some finished glazed work just in time for the degree show.
At last it has all come together just at the right time! After a long glazing session the kiln went on just before the end of the day. Have to wait for three days for the results as this is a very slow firing. The glaze has worked out well, no more crazing and the colours are what I have been looking for.
The contrast between glazed and unglazed surfaces works well |
I'm really happy with these |
Photography lighting studio
spent an hour or so in the lighting studio and got some interesting images. I prefer natural light for photography but these worked out OK. The images from natural light are warmer and softer.
Photo shoot in the Studio
The light in the studio was beautiful this morning so I decided to set up an area to take some pictures. The large windows allow lots of light in which gives great results with soft light rather than the photography Lighting studio with flash.
